Problems that may occur during stainless steel cutting

Problems that are easy to appear during the cutting of stainless steel: First, stainless steel is strong and easy to deform. During the processing and cutting of stainless steel, due to its certain elongation, especially austenitic stainless steel, it will undergo large plastic deformation, which makes the cutting process difficult. In addition, the strength of stainless steel itself is relatively large, which increases the double resistance during the cutting process and strengthens the cutting force. Second, the cutting temperature of stainless steel is high. A large amount of heat will be generated during the cutting process, but the thermal conductivity of stainless steel is relatively poor, so all the heat is concentrated on the cutting area and the blade, which is not easy to dissipate heat. Third, it is difficult to cut. Stainless steel is a hard material with good plasticity and high toughness, but during processing, the cutting will squeeze the stainless steel surface because it is not easy to break and easy to stick, resulting in excessive wear of the tool (this is because the tool is worn, resulting in pits on the knife surface, forming small peeling and notches; in addition, the hardness of stainless steel is very high, and it will directly contact and rub with the tool during cutting, scratch the tool, and there is also a phenomenon of work hardening, which will aggravate the wear of the tool), thus deteriorating the processing of the stainless steel surface. Fourth, stainless steel is easy to expand. During the cutting process, a lot of heat is generated, which causes the stainless steel to expand, increasing the difficulty of the cutting process.
